Apple Watch to arrive in 2015: Here are Top 5 alternatives that you can
buy instead

We handpick the top 5 smartwatches that can be bought at an relatively lesser price as compared with the Apple Watch

Apple has been in the line of fire for launching its half baked Apple Watch. Apple released watch in different avatars and editions so that it will appeal to the taste of consumers. The different versions meant that they were designed to cater for people from different walks of life. Apple’s Tim Cook was mum on the battery backup in the Apples Keynote which as it turned out to be was less than a day. Would you mind worrying if your watch runs out of juice before you hit the bed, well as a matter of fact I very well do mind. Let’s take a look at the other smartwatch offerings in the industry and see which one scores better.

1 LG GWatch

LGs G watch has a more contemporary look. The rectangular watch face looks simple and bland with no dashes of metal. The 1.65 inch screen has a good pixel density of 240ppi. The resolution is good and the icons are neatly laid out. The G Watch is water proof and can easily suffice a stint in shower or pool.

2. Moto 360

Moto 360 is one of the best looking smartwatches we have laid our eyes on. The circular dial is wrapped in metal encasing and this is the design element that sets it apart. The screen is protected by the corning Gorilla glass that will ward off unwanted scratches and protect the screen. There are however some apprehension about the battery backup of the Moto 360.

3. Asus Zenwatch

Asus unveiled their Zenwatch at a recently held event in IFA. The selling point of this watch is the ultra-affordable price tag of $199. This Smartwatch offers extreme value for money proposition when compared with the Moto 360 or the LG Gwatch. The watch is expected to foray in the Indian market in October this year with a price tag of 10-12k.

4. OnePlus OneWatch

OnePlus disrupted the premium smartphone market with its Flagship slayer the OnePlus One which locked horns with flagships like the Samsung Galaxy S5 and proved to be a better buy. The OneWatch is also likely to follow the suit. The smartwatch is said to sport an oval dial much like the Moto 360 and is expected to come with a rugged Sapphire glass. It will also feature the wireless Qi charging technology.

5. Galaxy Gear

Samsung’s Galaxy Gear has been around the corner for long time before. The Gear is designed beautifully in a brushed aluminium body. Samsung gives you an option of choosing the straps as well. The OLED display has good viewing angles and the outdoor visibility is commendable.
