Transfer Contacts from Nokia to Android With
Gmail
Android Smartphones, Google play, thousands of Apps are the big things in our life these days. People are running for them like crazy. Those, who are still using their old phones and applications also trying to move on with these new trends as soon as possible, And here we have a big issue while switching over from our old format to a new one.
Previously we were normally using our mobile applications based on Symbian 40 or Symbian 60. Now we have Windows phones, IOS and Android, which are much different from our previous versions. I will show you how to copy all of your contacts from your old Nokia Symbian phone to a new Android device. The procedure is somewhat lengthy but if you watch carefully you can able to move your 100% contacts from your Nokia to new Android device. This procedure also helps to retain a backup all of your contacts safely on a cloud.
Follow these steps with screenshots as stated below;
Install Nokia PC Suite into your PC. Normally you should get this software CD along with your Phone; if not then you can download easily from here by searching with your phone model.
Connect your old Nokia phone with a USB cable to your PC and open PC Suite. Remember to choose PC Suite while connecting your phone and not the Mass storage device.
After connecting Nokia device all of your contacts will sync with your PC automatically. If not then do the same by clicking Sync button.
Once you sure that all of your contacts are transferred to your PC successfully then we can proceed to the next step.
Open Microsoft Outlook on your PC. Click Contacts, here you can create a new folder by right clicking on the Contacts and give a name so that it is easy to identify while we transport all our contacts here.
Now on PC Suite go to the Tools menu and select Options. From here we need for the change the Sync settings for Contact sand choose Microsoft Outlook. While you select make sure you are choosing the same Contacts Folder you have created just now.
Clicking on the Sync button on the home screen will simulate all the contacts to Microsoft Outlook
Now open Microsoft Outlook and Check if all the contacts are copied successfully
Click on File menu and then Open
Select Import, it will open a new window
Select Import, it will open a new window
Choose to Export to a file then choose the Comma Separated Values format (DOS)
Then select the same Contacts folder which you have made earlier
It will ask a file name and destination. Give it as desired and save.
Now you have successfully saved all of your contacts to a CSV format
Now you need to open your Gmail account. If you don’t have, then just create a new one.
Log in to your Gmail account and click on the arrow beside Gmail, then choose Contacts
Then click on More and select Import
A new Popup window will open and ask you to upload the file in CSV format. We already have that file created, so just choose the file and click on Import. Wait a few Sec,
You can see all of your contacts are now successfully transferred to your Gmail contacts
Now we are almost done
Now take your new Android phone and open Settings
Choose Account and Sync
Here you need to add your Gmail account in which you have uploaded your contacts.
Once you add your Gmail account just tap on it
Select Sync Contacts
Then tap on Sync now
All of your contacts will now transfer to your new Android device successfully. You can also get many apps which can Sync your Android device with your Gmail account.
