HTC has just launched the Desire 510 and we take a look at its specs, features and an expected price and release date in India
HTC has just launched the world’s and its first 64-bit Qualcomm chipset device in the form of Desire 510. The Desire 510 brings with it a 1.2 GHz quad core Snapdragon 510 64-bit chipset which gets coupled with an Adreno 306 GPU. The CPU is based on Cortex A53 artchitecture. There is a 1GB RAM for multitasking and the performance on offer will be on the better side of things when compared to other mid range smartphones.
Let us talk about what else it brings to the table with it. It comes with a 4.7 inch screen which has a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels which results in a pixel density of 208 ppi. It runs on Android 4.4 KitKat with Sense 5.5 UI on top of it which brings features like Blinkfeed and Zoe to the device alongside a wide array of Zoe functionalities. The internal storage capacity of the Desire 510 stands at 8GB which can be expanded further by another 128GB with the help of a microSD card slot.
At the back of the smartphone is a 5MP camera without a flash but has support for 1080p video recording. There’s a VGA camera up front for video calling and vanity checks. It has a good connectivity package and brings 4G LTE connectivity on a budget. In addition to that, it gets 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP and NFC too. The connectivity package is that of a high end device and HTC has done well to bring it to a budget device.
HTC devices have been making their way to Indian shores soon after they hit the global launchpad. The HTC Desire 510 is expected to be a part of the IFA 2014 booth from HTC and will begin hitting markets globally after that. Expect it to come to us around the festive season of mid-October at a price of about Rs 15,000. It will have a lot of competition against it as the successor of the Moto G would have arrived by then and Xiaomi’s operations would have gained momentum as well in India.
